Technology

Technology is an amazing tool that provides endless opportunities for students and faculty alike to connect, explore and deepen the classroom experience.
As part of Lancaster Country Day’s 1:1 iPad initiative, every student in grades 6-12 receives an Apple tablet to help connect with classmates and teachers, and lighten backpacks by replacing textbooks with e-books. They also help students become responsible digital citizens, aware of the importance of technology in the 21st century, and their duty to use it responsibly.

While iPads serve as organizational planners, calendars, research aides, communication tools, presentation devices, notebooks, word processors and study assistants, they are only one of the technology resources available to students and teachers. The Middle and Upper School Robotics teams, for example, write and revise their code on a fleet of PCs; photography students master the ins and outs of Adobe Photoshop on Macbooks, and Lower Schoolers take their first steps toward tech literacy using the Chromebooks available in every classroom. Weaving this all together is the school’s high-speed wireless network, which connects each user and device on campus.
