What Makes LCDS Unique?

Founded in 1908, LCDS is an independent school that uniquely houses preschool-12th grade under one roof. This physical proximity, combined with our small class sizes and dedicated staff, results in a community that is deeply connected, with meaningful relationships among students and strong ties between students and their teachers.

Beyond the facts and figures, there is so much that makes LCDS a special community for our students and families. Our culture and traditions, our advisory program, our open lockers and the fact that we are a preschool through 12th grade school under one roof are just a few of the things that are notably different and that alumni talk about when they come back to campus. Our open lockers, especially, have always struck everyone who visits our campus as unusual. Yet it is a natural outgrowth of the overarching culture of kindness and respect. Above all else, we take good care of each other.
