Navigating Tuition Assistance
At Lancaster Country Day School, we believe that every talented student should have the opportunity to experience the joyful rigor of our academic community.
We recognize that families from a wide range of financial backgrounds seek the distinctive education we provide. Our tuition assistance program is designed to bridge the gap between a family’s resources and the cost of an LCDS education, ensuring that our classrooms remain vibrant, diverse, and representative of the world at-large.

Tuition assistance at LCDS is a need-based program.
We utilize Clarity to provide a streamlined, secure, and fair evaluation of each family’s unique financial situation.
- A Commitment to Equity: We determine need based on the principle that both parents—regardless of household structure—share a responsibility for their child's education.
- Confidential & Independent: The request for tuition assistance is a separate process from the admissions evaluation. Applying for aid has no bearing on a student’s eligibility for admission.
- Focus on K-12: While we currently offer assistance for students in Kindergarten through Grade 12, please note that tuition assistance is not available for our Preschool or Junior Kindergarten programs.

FAQs
Does a request for aid affect my child’s chances of being accepted? No. Our academic admissions evaluation is done independently of your financial application.
What factors are considered in the award process? Our committee looks beyond simple income. We consider assets, debts, the number of children in tuition-charging schools, and unique family circumstances to ensure a fair assessment.
Is tuition assistance guaranteed every year? Families must re-apply for assistance annually. Provided that a family’s financial situation remains relatively consistent, the school makes every effort to maintain a consistent level of support throughout the student's enrollment at LCDS.
