International Students
Information for International Students
Moving from one culture to another always involves change, from food and fashions, to study and sports. We hope to make the transition as smooth as possible, and encourage students and parents to contact us with any questions.
International students at Lancaster Country Day School will find that their teachers, advisors, and coaches will be there to help them navigate their new school. We are proud of the broad range of nationalities and cultures in our student body and we look forward to helping you become a part of our community.
Applying to Lancaster Country Day School from China
- For all Chinese candidates, we have an arrangement with two consulting firms to help families with the process: The Cambridge Network and Ivy International Group. While our admission office makes decisions about every applicant, Cambridge and Ivy represent LCDS in China and, as such, collects and processes all applications from China until they are completely ready for us to review.
- If you want to proceed with completing an application, please contact our Cambridge Representative or our Ivy Representative to make an inquiry with with either firm. We look forward to hearing from you!
Summer Preparation
To help students transition academically, LCDS provides an Upper School Summer Reading list, which all students grades 9-12 read over the summer focusing on a central theme. At the start of the year, students will engage in class and advisory time discussion of the books.
Chinese International Students
Student Success Story
Last year, Stefan Michev came to LCDS from Sofia, Bulgaria for his junior year of high school through the ASSIST program. He joined our theatre company, participating in several productions and taking a course on directing, and he finished third in Pennsylvania's Chemistry Olympiad. At the end of the year, Stefan gave a moving presentation to all Upper School students and faculty about his life back home and of the relationships he built here in the U.S. As it is for so many of our international students, Stefan excelled in the classroom and had a wonderful, special year.
Lancaster Country Day School
Lancaster Country Day School is a preschool-12th grade, coed college preparatory school with students from Lancaster, Hershey, York and Reading.
