Enrichment

LCDS offers a variety of enrichment classes for students and adults. While these programs usually take place after school, classes are also offered in the evenings, on weekends, and during the summer. Program offerings include such things as art, computer, Saturday preschool program, science, sports, and summer day and sports camps.

Basic Tang Soo Do Class (Grades JK-3)

Lancaster Tang Soo Do School of karate

This class is all about teaching the basics and of the traditional Korean art of Tang Soo Do. Our goal is to teach students the basics of the art. Children should come dressed in a tee shirt, or sweatshirt, shorts, or sweatpants.

Creative Writing...From The Heart

A break from tests, tension, and texting. This class awakens students to the wonder of writing, not the rules. Through warmth, kindness and a touch of mischief, we'll jumpstart original thoughts and keep them coming. Students develop focus, confidence, and fluency, in a spirited atmosphere where it's cool to be yourself. No grades, competition or anxiety. Animation Class (Grades 3-5)

Did you ever want to make your own stop motion animated file? Well her is your chance.

Learn how to draw a storyboard, make sets and characters, use cameras and computer capture software, edit your footage, and compose an original soundtrace.  When you are all done you will have your own stop motion animated film!  All you need is patience.

Clay Class (Grades 3-5)

In this class, students will be making fun and exciting art projects using clay.  Many different techniques - including slabs, pinch pots, coiling, modeling, and galsing - will be included.  At the end of the class, students will have 4 beautiful and creative pieces of art, ready to be displayed in your home!
