Athletics & P.E.

We recognize physical education as a fundamental component of a well-rounded curriculum. Required for students every year, our physical education classes are carefully designed to use physical activity and movement to help build strong, active bodies and minds. Through these classes, our students learn basic skills, rules, and strategies for team and individual sports; and perhaps most important, they learn the value of exercise and fitness as part of a healthy lifestyle.

As a new student athlete coming from a large public school, I was really worried about the standard of athletics at LCDS and I was concerned about losing my competitive skills. After my first week of soccer I knew I had no reasons for these worries because excellent coaches and players surrounded me.

Students with athletic aspirations beyond physical education class have ample opportunity to pursue their interests. LCDS is a member of the Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Association (P.I.A.A). In the past seven years LCDS has advanced in district and state-level playoffs in soccer, basketball, baseball, tennis, and softball. Both on our campus and through a partnership with a local high school, our students may compete in a range of team sports from football, swimming and lacrosse to golf, cross country, field hockey, and track and field.
