Since its founding in 1908, LCDS has thrived because of the support of its families and alumni who believe in our mission and our commitment to the future. There are many ways to impact our school.
The Excellence Fund is the annual fundraising effort for the School, supporting critical operations and programs for the current year. The Excellence Fund touches every corner of the school, allowing us to be flexible to meet needs and opportunities as they arise. Annual gifts provide funding for every aspect of the LCDS environment, including arts, athletics, and technology. The Excellence Fund impacts every student and helps ensure that the vibrancy and vigor that distinguishes the LCDS education continues to thrive.
Since 2001, Lancaster Country Day School has been approved as a scholarship recipient in the Educational Improvement Tax Credit (EITC) plan. In 2012 Pennsylvania introduced a sister program, Opportunity Scholarship Tax Credit (OSTC). Any business can apply and if certified, you may contribute these funds to our scholarship program. For more information, visit the PA Dept. of Community and Economic Development or contact the LCDS Chief Advancement Officer, or visit out Gifts for Tax Credit page.
Mark your calendars now for FundFest 2013, a fun-filled evening with and silent auctions, great food and entertainment. This year's event will be held on Saturday, April 13, 2013. In conjunction with this event, the school solicits both silent and live auction items, as well as large scale corporate support. Lancaster Country Day School is fortunate to have an endowment in excess of $10 million. The principal funds are protected so that ever year a portion of the endowment's interest revenue may be designated in support of scholarships, program support and faculty salaries. LCDS is grateful to members of the community continue to invest in our Endowment by either creating new or augmenting existing funds every year. Many of the funds in the endowment were made possible through estate provisions. If you wish to make a lasting tribute to a classmate, teacher or friend, please contact Chief Advancement Officer, Shelby LaMar, (717) 392-2916 ext. 231.
Have you included LCDS in your estate plans? There are a variety of giving strategies that help you provide for LCDS while also advancing your own personal objectives. Our Heritage Society recognizes individuals who have made provisions for Lancaster Country Day School.
