Since its founding in 1908, LCDS has thrived because of the support of its families and alumni who believe in our mission and our commitment to the future. The opportunities for investment in our children are many.
The Excellence Fund is the annual fundraising effort for the School, supporting critical operations and programs for the current year. Did you know that tuition dollars only cover a student's education until mid-April? Gifts to The Excellence Fund bridge this gap, help keep tuition down, and provide funding for every aspect of the LCDS environment, including arts, athletics, and technology.
Since 2001, Lancaster Country Day School has been approved as a scholarship recipient in the Educational Improvement Tax Credit (EITC) plan. In 2010-2011 we received $273,880 in support from Pennsylvania companies. Any business can apply to the DCED and if certified, you may contribute these funds to our scholarship program. For more information, visit the PA Dept. of Community and Economic Development or contact the LCDS Chief Advancement Officer .
Mark your calendars now for FundFest 2012, a fun-filled evening which will include live and silent auctions, great food and live entertainment. This year's event will be held on Saturday, April 14, 2012. In conjunction with this event, the school solicits both silent and live auction items, as well as large scale corporate support. For more information about FundFest, contact Sherry Vernet at (717) 392-2916 ext. 330.
Lancaster Country Day School is fortunate to have an endowment in excess of $10 million. The principal funds are protected so that ever year a portion of the endowment's interest revenue may be designated in support of scholarships, program support and faculty salaries. LCDS is fortunate that members of the community continue to invest in our Endowment by either creating new or augmenting existing funds every year. Many of the funds in the endowment were made possible through estate provisions. If you wish to make a lasting tribute to a classmate, teacher or friend, please contact Chief Advancement Officer, Shelby LaMar, (717) 392-2916 ext. 231.
