Dan Gutman

We are thrilled to announce that noted children's author, Dan Gutman, will be visiting the LCDS Lower School Library on May 10, 2010.

Dan Gutman spent his childhood in New Jersey and attended Rutgers University, graduating in 1977 with a degree in psychology.  After a few unhappy years in graduate school, Dan decided to take a detour and try his hand at writing.  When his son, Sam, was two years old, Dan sold his first novel for children, They Came from Centerfield. Since that first novel, so many of his books have quickly become students' favorites.

Author visits are a wonderful opportunity for young readers to meet the creators of the books they read.  Students have the opportunity to purchase an autographed copy of one (or more) of his books.  You may also find out more about Dan Gutman and his books by visiting his website at: www.dangutman.com.
