Information for Current Students and Families

Q: WHICH LCDS STUDENTS WILL BE CONSIDERED FOR A shippen scholar AWARD?

A: Any student whose current grade level is eighth grade (a student who will be a rising ninth grader) is eligible.

Q: HOW MANY AWARDS WILL BE MADE?

A: Two scholarships will be awarded for the 2010/2011 academic year.

• The Shippen Scholar Award will recognize a rising ninth grader of great accomplishment who contributes most to the intellectual climate of the school.

• The Shippen Citizenship Award will recognize the rising ninth grader who best embodies the qualities of honesty, respect, and responsibility.

Q: WHAT IS THE AMOUNT OF EACH AWARD?

A: $3,000

Q: WHO SERVES ON THE EVALUATION COMMITTEE?

A: The recipients of these awards are selected by the Middle School faculty and administration.

Q: WHEN WILL AWARD WINNERS BE ANNOUNCED?

A: These awards will be presented at end of year ceremonies.
