HOW TO APPLY FOR FINANCIAL AID

The LCDS Financial Aid Program

We are committed to making an LCDS education available to applicants who strongly desire and are prepared to undertake a challenging educational program, regardless of the family's ability to pay.

Annually, we provide more than $2.3 million in direct need-based financial aid grants. In addition, we offer Jarvis Merit Scholarships and options that include one, two or monthly payment plans.

Need-based Financial Aid

While the amount of aid for each family varies and is based on each unique situation, the average grant is approximately $11,600.

Who Receives Aid

Just like the diversity within our LCDS community of students and families, the applicants who receive financial aid represent a spectrum of socio-economic backgrounds and situations. Therefore, the aid may vary from relatively small amounts of assistance to amount much closer to full tuition. Every family, regardless of need, however, does pay a portion of tuition costs.

Basic Steps Toward Financial Aid

At LCDS, we use School and Student Services (SSS) to process financial aid applications. SSS is a service of the National Association of Independent Schools (NAIS). Based on the financial information you provide, SSS calculates for LCDS the estimated amount your family can contribute to educational expenses. This service makes it possible for us to make fair and objective financial aid decisions on your behalf.

To Begin Online: We encourage you to visit the NAIS website, sss.nais.org and click on "Website for Families." You'll find answers to financial aid questions and easy-to-follow instructions to assist you in completing the Parents Financial Statement (PFS).

To Begin by Mail: If you prefer, LCDS can provide a printed copy of the NAIS Parents Financial Statement (PFS). Please call our Admission Office, 717-392-2916 x-228 or x-273 to request this form. After you have completed the PFS, return it and all required backup documents and fee to:

All Applicants: Send a copy of your current year tax return to the LCDS business office.
