EXAMPLES OF FINANCIAL AID AT LCDS

Here are examples of income ranges to give you an idea of actual financial aid situations. In some cases, families have more than one child enrolled at LCDS or in other tuition-paying schools. The spread in the range of tuition paid is affected by the number of people in the immediate family, ages of parents, and the assets of both parents and students.

Case Study #1
This family has two children and the parents' combined income is $30,000. One child will attend LCDS Lower School, for which full tuition is $14,000. The other child will attend a public school. The family pays rent for their housing and has $5,000 in savings. This family received $12,000 in need-based financial aid from LCDS. Their contribution to tuition was $2,000.

Case Study #2
This family has two children. One child is an Upper School student at LCDS, for which full tuition cost is $18,000, and the other child will attend another independent school. The parents' combined income is $140,000. The older parent is age 50; the family has home equity and investments totaling $210,000. This family received $6,000 in need-based financial aid from LCDS. Their contribution to tuition was $12,000.
