Open Houses

Open houses offer prospective parents the opportunity to meet students, faculty, the Head of School, and key administrators; hear about our academic and extracurricular programs; take a student-led tour of the school; and, through a student-faculty panel, see the warm, comfortable relationship between our teachers and students. By the end of the program we guarantee that you will understand why our families are so passionate about LCDS!

Admission Testing & Playgroups

All testing and playgroup sessions are scheduled by appointment. Applicants for grades one through twelve are required to participate in a Saturday morning standardized testing session administered at the school. The Educational Records Bureau test includes sections on reading comprehension, and verbal and math skills. Candidates will also be asked to create a writing sample. The admission staff will be happy to share test scores at the conclusion of the admission process. Candidates for grades six through twelve will also interview with faculty and the head of their division during this session. Kindergarten applicants attend one of the Saturday morning playgroup sessions with other applicants and at a separate time, meet individually by appointment with one of the kindergarten teachers to evaluate readiness for the program. Preschool (age 3) and junior kindergarten (age 4) applicants attend one of the Saturday morning playgroups with other applicants.

Admission Tour & Coffees

Admission Tour and Coffees are informal events designed for families interested in learning more about Lancaster Country Day School. Held on weekday mornings from 9-11 this adult-only, interactive program allows you to see our school in action, hear about our educational philosophy, meet faculty and students and have your questions answered.
